Support for seniors

  October 23, 2011

Winchester Hospital has entered into an agreement with Carleton-Willard At Home to provide better support to seniors living in Winchester and surrounding towns. The two organizations will work together to help residents live safely and comfortably in their own homes as they grow older. At Home, a nonprofit membership organization and sister organization to Carleton-Willard Village, was established two years ago to help seniors stay in their homes with confidence and independence, while saving them money on services ranging from home maintenance to in-home health care. Services are available to residents over age 65. The partnership will provide educational sessions, including an upcoming CarFit program, slated to take place from 1 to 4 p.m. Oct. 31 in the Jenks Center parking lot. At the event, technicians will guide seniors through a 12-point checklist of their vehicles. For more information on the CarFit program, contact Paula von Kleydorff at 781-276-1910 or pvonkleydorff@cwathome.org. - Brenda J. Buote
